Thursby Software – Arlington, TX – April 17, 2009 – Thursby Software Systems, Inc., announces contract with U.S. Army

Thursby Software Systems has signed an Enterprise Agreement with the United States Army to provide licenses of its secure integration software, ADmitMac for CAC v2.0. ADmitMac for CAC securely integrates U.S. Department of Defense Common Access Cards (CAC) with Apple Macintosh computers. The Agreement is effective for three years and includes purchase of licenses under a volume license agreement. ADmitMac for CAC is a key component of the Apple Army Golden Master and is required to connect Apple Macintosh systems to the Army network.

Paul Nelson, Chief Technology Officer for Thursby, stated, "as a result of several years of close work with the U.S. Army, Apple, and the Defense Information Systems Agency, we are pleased that our technology has been chosen as the standard security solution for all Macintosh computers within the Army. The same smart card solution is expandable for all of the U.S. Government and there are already working Thursby PIV card solutions in both NASA and the White House."

Using the advanced Active Directory technology of Thursby Software's commercial ADmitMac product, ADmitMac for CAC provides an approved Macintosh solution for securing Macintosh computers without requiring a local password. ADmitMac for CAC uses a single sign-on environment to Windows domains, verifying a CAC against a centralized network authority. It further validates that neither the card nor the privileges granted the user have been revoked. Using ADmitMac for CAC was Department of Defense, Joint Interoperability Test Command certified in July 2007.
