Thursby Looks Forward to an Exciting Year While Celebrating a Successful 2015

Arlington, Texas, January 28,2016 – After many years of research and development that brought little yield, 2015 proved to be a year of pilots and profitability. The Navy, Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) all started large-scale pilot programs in 2015 that in total deployed to over 6,000 Android and iOS test users. Each of theses successful pilots are on track to continue growing exponentially into 2016 and should double the user base of the PKard Suite of products.

Many back-end changes to products happened in 2015 that have made the software stronger than ever and have positioned the products to be on the cutting edge of technology.

Derived Credentials was the hot topic of the year and Thursby is, as always, the leader of derived credential integration. With customers in both the Federal and DoD space already using derived credentials, Thursby has stepped up to the plate to create multiple secure methods of provisioning and deploying derived credentials within the PKard Pro app.

Android also saw multiple enhancements including integration with the Good platform. This integration is allowing overseas Navy users the flexibility to view email from the mobile device of their choice while using their Common Access Card (CAC) to sign, encrypt, and decrypt secure emails.

In its nearly thirty years as a company Thursby has always had a reputation as being an innovator, and 2016 proves to be no exception. Currently in beta testing is a new version of the popular PKard Reader software, which will revolutionize the way mobile users access email.

In the past, accessing Outlook Web Access (OWA) portals has proven to be a very frustrating experience for users. The OWA sites are not created for mobile use and this creates problems with viewing, signing, encrypting, and decrypting emails. The next release of the PKard Reader app will change all of that though. Customized viewing capabilities and S/MIME functionality are just a few of the changes that both Apple and Android users can expect to see in the coming months.
