Apple
We have supported Apple from System Software 2 to today’s OS X 10.7 Lion and iOS 5. Historically,Thursby's software has been sold in Apple stores and even shared SKUs with Macs back when MacWorld Magazine described Thursby as consumer "must-have" products. Today, Apple and Thursby co-operate principally on enterprise accounts with complex Apple integration requirements rather than in the mass market consumer/small business arena. Thursby is a long-time supporter of the Apple Consultants Network (ACN). We are sometimes asked why our software is not distributed via the Mac App Store. The reason is simple, the Mac App Store does not allow software that extends functionality more deeply than user space. Also, many organizations have distribution requirements that are more sophisticated and tightly controlled than updating from the Mac App Store.
Microsoft
Thursby have supported from Windows NT 3.1 to today’s Windows Server 2008R2 We have always developed to enterprise standards such as Microsoft SMB/CIFS,Microsoft DFS, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Group Policy, Microsoft HISEC and Windows Server. This is especially important with questions arising around the roadmap for Apple back-end products around AFP, OS X Server, Xsan and Xserve.
Network Attached Storage - EMC, IBM, Isilon, NetApp & Editshare
Since our software is client-based, no special accommodation is required for physical, virtualized or cloud-based NAS storage
Samba servers - HP, Red Hat & Sun
Since our software is client-based, no special accommodation is required to work with Samba software on any UNIX/Linux flavor. Our products offer sharing capabilities but are not themselves SMB/CIFS servers.
Integrators, managed services, federal contractors & consultants ACS, Dell, Lockheed & Siemens
Thursby systems have been deployed at sites integrating from 10s to 1000s of Macs into Windows networks in partnership with tens of companies that are actively engaged in Apple-related integration. These range from huge multinationals to high end Mac and/or Windows boutiques in the US, Canada, Europe and Asia.
Smart card readers - BAi, Omnikey, Precise Biometrics & SCM
Thursby's software works with a variety of Apple smart card 2 and 3-factor readers from different vendors.
Apple enterprise tools and alliances
Ours software is compatible with popular Apple enterprise anti-virus, deployment, encryption, maintenance, mobile device management (MDM) and virtualization tools. We recommend that clients select best of breed Apple solutions for each functional area. The mix will depend on the specific target environment, which is why we do not advocate a one-size-fits-all approach. We find that especially with smaller companies or startups, strong engineering and support correlates to focus on one or a small subset of target environments rather than trying to thinly cover many in marketing. Just as in the popular saying, Jack of all trades in marketing can mean being master of none in reality.
Free or OSS Software
Thursby develops commercial software. We offer free, fully functional, fully documented and supported trial versions of our enterprise software. We do not market commercial code that does not meet the GNU General Public License (GPL) open source definition. Free is great marketing when understood as "free beer" but in the enterprise, a better understanding is more like "free puppy" since testing, certification, integration, updating, upgrading and support services costs are not free and important inputs to procurement, project or program management when considering initial and on-going costs, delivery dates. risks, staffing profiles and user service level agreements.
Outsourcing
Thursby software is engineered and supported in the US rather than outsourced overseas.
AFCEA
Thursby is a long-time member of AFCEA, a non-profit membership association serving the military, government, industry, and academia as an ethical forum for advancing professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence, and global security.
