We have had several reports of Safari hanging when you attempt to log into a website with a client certificate. We are investigating why this is happening, but haven't come up with for sure workarounds to this issue. Here are a few suggestions that have worked for some of our customers:
- Clear Safari's history within Safari Preferences > Privacy > Website Data
- Install all of the DOD certificates into your Keychain => viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1331
- Use the Finders Go menu and select Go to Folder, go to ~/Library/Preferences/, look for a com.apple.safari file that has "lockfile" at the end of it. If you have one, delete it, then quit and relaunch Safari.
- Download and install Google Chrome from http://www.google.com/chrome and use this browser for sites you can't access via Safari.
As new information is made available, we will update this forum post. We are hoping this issue gets resolved in a future update to Safari.
