Pkard Reader and remote desktop?

Postby turkeeslapper » Thu Jan 28, 2016 10:34 am

I utilize an ipad pro with remote desktop to access my government PC. The policy has changed and now I must use my government PIV (smartcard) in order to log in. Would the pkard reader help me with this new issue?

It is possible that you would be able to access the remote machine if you use a web-based portal to do so.

If you use another app like Citrix Receiver or Microsoft Remote Desktop, it won't be supported. Those developers would have to include PIV (or CAC) support using our Toolkit. At this time, neither Citrix nor Microsoft has included that support. I would suggest contacting the developer of the app you use and specifically request PKard Toolkit support.

I hope this information helps.
