User OU searches

Postby diggory » Thu May 05, 2016 2:55 am

I've read that specifying the OU for searching groups in AD speeds logons up.
This seems to work.

I was thinking of doing this for our users as well, however is there any merit in this?
Also our users are in two different OUs.
Can AdmitMac be configured to search two distinct OUs? - If so what would be the syntax?

diggory,

The OU limitation is intended to limit the searches to a single OU.

In the scenario you described, I don't think it would speed up logins by much unless you have tens of thousands of users in each OU. Even then, you may only see two or three seconds difference in the login.

I hope this information helps.
