Terminal command to bind to AD

Post by eddie » Mon May 20, 2013 10:06 am

Is there a terminal command to bind and Apple iMac (OS 10.8.3) to my Active directory using the AdmitMac v7 plug in.

eddie,

You can bind, unbind, and verify using the amconfig command line utility. To see the usage statement, simply launch the Terminal and enter:

Code: Select all

sudo amconfig
Here's an example of joining the Mac to a domain:

Code: Select all

sudo amconfig -a -d DOMAIN.NET -u username -p password -c MYCOMPUTER
This will join the Mac to the default "Computers" OU of the domain with the default settings (Network home folder, NTLM only, etc.).
