Access Requirements?

I'm in the process of installing PKard and potentially the Browser (PKard Browser) but concerned why the software needs access to so many settings/applications on your phone? Requires access to 'camera' (take pictures and videos), USB (modify or delete the contents of your USB storage, to read the contents of your USB storage) etc. Any comments would help.

maflague,

Access to the camera is primarily for derived credential support (which will not affect most DoD customers), but there is also the ability to read a QR code URL in the browser.

Access to the USB is simply to access the card reader itself.

We definitely understand that some of the default descriptions of the required access can see a little intrusive, but we'll be happy to clarify any questions you have.

Appreciate the explanation. Is there a need for the app to have to access "video"? It does seem instrusive. I understand developers require access to other cell functions for apps to properly work but there are some that appear outright questionable. Developers should make these reasons public (advertise why certain permission are needed etc.).

maflague,

The "video" option simply falls in with access to the camera.

Our Engineering Department has published an updated version of the "why" for various permissions. You can find that information here:
