Root access detected

Post by a.mercado » Mon Feb 13, 2017 9:34 pm

Nexus 5x user. I have a custom OS installed but my phone IS NOT rooted. For some reason I keep getting the following error message.

"Root access to device detected, FIPS mode will be disabled"

How do we fix this? I repeat, my phone IS NOT rooted.

a.mercado,

What is the make and model of your device?

Which custom OS did you install?

I have the Nexus 5x which us manufactured for LG. The custom OS is called Pure Nexus. Essentially, it's the normal stock version of the Android OS with some extra options but nothing that requires the phone to be rooted. What exactly is lost when FIPS IS disabled?

a.mercado,

With FIPS mode disabled we will not use FIPS 140-2 encryption when connecting to websites. You should be receiving an email from our support team regarding this message so that we can gather a log file for engineering to review.

a.mercado,

As we mentioned in our support email, the Pure Nexus OS was signed by test keys, and is not signed using official developer keys. R2S should still function without FIPS 140-2 encryption enabled, but we cannot provide support for this OS.
