New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
Hoping someone can help. I received a new iPad Pro 11 inch for Christmas and the PKard Reader with lightening connector is not detecting a cac card. The new iPad uses a USB-C port so I am using an adaptor - using the micro USB port on the side of the reader and plugging it into a USB-C to USB port cable. I get a blue light on the reader when the cac card is installed but am unable to see any certificates when I go to any site on the Sub Rosa app. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Happy Holidays,
Kevin

Re: New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
We do plan on supporting this device. We know that a standard USB-C reader will not work with the new iPad Pro. We have tested the TSS-PK7 (our iOS plug-in reader with lightning connector) with USB-C adapters and unfortunately they do not work.
We are working to develop a solution for the iPad Pro, but we do not have an ETA of when that will be available.
This is due to an Apple limitation and we suggest that you reach out to Apple.
In the meantime, if you are interested in receiving updates on our progress please email sales@thursby.com.

Re: New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
Has there been any development on the new iPad Pro USB-C compatibility? As we transition users to newer devices, this is becoming a critical issue.
Re: New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
Any update on this? There needs to be some sort of adapter for this new iPad. Please help!

Re: New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
Thursby indicates the problem is on Apple's end however when I reached out to Apple Customer Service, they indicated they are not responsible for the compatibility of third party hardware/software. Evidently, Thursby is required to establish a software patch that is compatible with Apple, not the other way around.

Re: New IPad Pro 11 Inch Compatibility
This is not a software problem that can simply be patched by Thursby. From our testing, it appears that while the iPad Pro has a USB-C connector, it still requires the Apple Authentication chip that was introduced with the Lightning connector. We are working within Apple's MFi program to get an Apple-approved solution as quickly as possible.
